Set of four (4) individual brass air corrector Jets supplied direct in plain packaging for Mikuni VM24mm, VM26mm and VM28mm round slide Carb banks as fitted to Kawasaki Z650, Z1, Z900, Z1000, Z1R , MK2, ST ETC. ( See my other listing for Suzuki GS550, 750, 850, 1000, GSX1000 Katana ) Essential when tuning your Mikuni VM24, VM26 or VM28 equipped Z650, Z1, Z900, Z1000 to run correctly without a stock airbox. Fit and forget.No more need to change pilot jets or needle position from stock when junking the airbox. Just fit as described and increase the Mains to suit your engine. When fitted, these jets adjust the fuel slope to pinpoint the low speed fuelling problem and associated flat spot created by the higher atmospheric pressure over the venturi when running velocity stacks or high flow filters and does not detrimentally enrichen the overall fuelling that the common less refined act of fitting larger pilots and lifting the needles does which can result in up to 25% power loss and raised fuel consumption.. Improves running over the entire range with an average increase of two to six horsepower overall and gives a much needed level of added adjustability to the stock VM that was only previously available on the smoothbore versions. You will need to internally thread the needle jet air bleed in the mouth of each carb 8mm deep with an m5 x 0.8mm tap ( TAP NOT INCLUDED ). The air bleed orifice is already the correct tapping size so no drilling required. PLEASE NOTE – You will receive ONE pack of FOUR (4) jets supplied per single order. Enough for ONE (1) four cylinder bank of Mikuni VM24 / VM26 or VM28mm carburettors. See attached pics for images of the jets and study the third pic for fitting reference with the correct position of the needle jet air bleeds highlighted and jets installed. BEWARE – Some VM26mm carb sets equipped with the FUEL mixture screws underneath are made up of all left or right handed carb bodies.. In this instance the jets must be installed in the air passage furthest away from the unmachined air screw boss. In the case of left hand bodies ALL the jets should be fitted at the 4 o’clock position and on right handed bodies all at 8 o’clock.. See the LAST pic for an example of a left hand body set where the air jets are all fitted at the 4 o’clock position. If you have any uncertainty just message me for advice.
