Easton Press Deluxe Limited Edition. The King James Bible. The Classic 1611 Edition. This STUNNING Deluxe Limited Edition is #96 of only 400 copies. One of the finest facsimiles of the first edition of the 1611 King James Bible, and one of the smallest print runs of Easton Press Deluxe Limited Editions. A very rare book worldwide, especially scarce due to its very large size and the corresponding difficulty and expense of export from the US. This is a very fine facsimile, containing all of the original spellings of the 1611 true first ‘He’ edition (‘he went into the citie’ in Ruth 3:15, etc), alongside the original layout and type, with the historiated initials and black-ruled leaves, as well as the original Apocryphal books as printed in the first KJV. Beautifully bound in a manner similar to early 17th century fine bindings as one might find with the original 1611 KJV, with a fantastic paneled design binding, complete with its original slipcase. The leaf with the numbered edition is bound in at the rear as opposed to a separate Certificate of Authenticity as some Easton Press DLE’s have. The paper is also of note, being of very impressive quality, with all aspects of this book superior than any of Easton Press’ usual publications, which themselves are of a high standard. As mentioned on the limitation colophon, the paper was especially milled, the cowhide leather imported from Italy, the lithography by Falcon Press, and the slipcase and custom binding by BindTech in Nashville, Tennessee in their highest grade of all aspects (silk moire endpapers, real leather binding, etc). Description: Very rare Deluxe Limited Edition from Easton Press. A reproduction of the famous 1611 King James Bible text, and issued for the 400th anniversary. Only 400 hand numbered copies from Easton Press were issued so this book will always be HIGHLY collectible and sought after. Of any bible Easton press has published, this is about the lowest run of copies they have ever done. Even the Easton Press Gutenburg is well over a thousand copies. This folio sized Bible will give your personal library heft and substance, and if you collect oversized bibles from Easton or other sources, this book is a must at just under 16″ tall. This edition faithfully reproduces the unadulterated 1611 text and includes original features such as the dedication to King James I, an essay by the translators, the books of Biblical Apocrypha which was first published in Luther’s Bible of 1534, and the Complete Biblical Genealogy. Easton Press is a modern fine publisher who are still active and printing luxurious leatherbound editions of important titles. Many of the most desirable titles are long out of print, and so the titles outside of their “100 Greatest Books of All Time” series and their long sold out Deluxe Limited Editions remain highly (and increasingly) desirable.
