HERE WE HAVE: A vintage advertising sign for Diploma brand tobacco.. I don’t know if it’s for cigars or cigarettes though! The sign appears to be in both Spanish and German. The sign reads “Hochfeine Qualitäts Cigarre.” along the top, “‘Ia Specialität’ Allgemein beliebtes Fabrikat.” along the bottom, and “EBR. L Schutz-Marke” on each side. Google translate isn’t great, the translation for both languages on this were pretty broken English but they basically says it’s a fine quality cigar/tobacco and a generally popular brand it seems. At the center is the Diploma graphic and the writing says “Grand fabrica de tabacos fin superiores de la mejores por el fabricantes”. I couldn’t find anything similar or really much on this brand, so I’m not sure of the age. The sign is a cardboard material and all the writing is embossed. The Diploma emblem looks to be a decal pasted on the front. CONDITION: Being sold as is, it has seen better days! There are stains and bends throughout. All of the corners have some loss to the top layer of paper. There are 8 pin holes around the sides and two larger mounting holes that look like they were from production.
