WW2 era US Navy Mark 2 fighting knife with original “navy-gray” NORD composition scabbard; manufactured by Robeson Cutlery Co. This MK2 is about 12″/30.5 cm overall; the blade is about 6-7/8″/17.5 cm. Used, but in better than average condition for the type – no pitting, spine dings, or edge nicks. The blade has been polished and re-sharpened; it is razor-sharp still; the tip is intact. Stacked leather washes and steel pommel handle; all parts are tight. Original NORD composition scabbard by Beckwith Manufacturing; production numbers on the back indicate 07/1945 delivery. Original “navy-gray” finish on plastic; no big dents or chips; webbing is great. Leather leg tie is still attached; this scabbard is in excellent overall condition, considering the age. MK2 is the classic American fighting knife; this type was used in combat in all theaters of WW2 and in virtually every war thereafter. This MK2 is about 12″ / 30.5 cm overall; the blade is about 6-7/8″ / 17.5 cm. Used, but in better than average condition for the type – no pitting, spine dings, or edge nicks. Original NORD composition scabbard by Beckwith Manufacturing; production numbers on the back indicate July 1944 delivery to the Navy.
